Mix Bus: Don’t Over Do It
Over processing your mix bus is easy to do and can be more harmful than helpful. Whenever you are doing any processing to your entire mix you should take it easy and make subtle changes. Don’t try to fix a mix by processing mix bus. Making big drastic EQ or compression changes that affect how your mix sounds may sound cool at first but in the long run may harm you rather then help you. Most equipment and gear used for mastering uses 0.5db increments for just this reason, so that you make small incremental changes, not large ones.
